The week-long post-Thanksgiving tradition of the annual Rotary Club Christmas Auction has officially wrapped up and local Rotarians are now turning their attention to shopping day.
Brendan Fritts, auction chairperson for this year, said the group collected about $48,900 dollars as of this weekend with expectations of having nearly $52,000 by the end of this week.
âNow we get to enjoy the rewards and clothes many needy children in our community,â Fritts said. The annual auction is known for providing new winter clothes to children who may go without in the colder months by raising funds through auctioning off locally donated goods and services.
