Islington s faith leaders unite to combat vaccine hesitancy

At UCLH, we have seen first-hand the terrible toll on individuals and families that Covid-19 can bring.   Over 18m people have received at least one dose of a coronavirus vaccine in England in the past four months, but the uptake is being affected by vaccine hesitancy in some quarters. Since the first cases were reported last year, conspiracy theories began circulating, which included myths about the virus being a secret ploy by pharmaceutical companies to sell a vaccine and suggesting business magnate Bill Gates was creating a tracking device to be implanted in a vaccine. Reticence to be vaccinated hasn t been helped by the fact that some countries, including Demark, Norway and Iceland, have halted the use of the Oxford/AstraZeneca jabs amid fears they cause blood clots - although Europe s own medical regulator, the European Medicines Agency, has said there is no clear link.

Henderson County News: Council OKs 84-unit Duncan Terrace - Hendersonville Lightning

Proposed Duncan Terrace apartment development clears neighborhood compatibility meeting with no opposition

A proposed 84-unit apartment development, called Duncan Terrace, off Duncan Hill Road wasn t met with any opposition during a neighborhood compatibility meeting Friday. The city received an application for a conditional rezoning of the property from low-density residential district to planned residential development conditional zoning district in December. The request is from Bobby Funk with Mills Construction Co. in Raleigh, Green Holdings LLC and North Main Street Properties of Hendersonville LLC. The property currently has a vacant house on it and is wooded.   Funk gave an overview of the project via Zoom at the compatibility meeting. Only one city resident commented to ask questions about the development including its impact on traffic in the area.
