Stray Dog ‘Steals’ Same Stuffed Unicorn 5 Times, Animal Control Officer Buys It for Him
After a North Carolina straydog attempted to “shoplift” the same stuffed purple unicorn from a local store five times, animal control took pity on his plight.
An officer decided to buy the $10 toy for the desperate dog before taking him into safe custody.
The dog’s determined mission to seek love has since stolen hearts across the globe.
Duplin County’s Animal Services Department Head, Joe Newburn, said that the store called on March 21 to report a stray in the parking lot, reports The Charlotte Observer.

The beauty of love is that it can happen with the most unexpected person in the most unlikely of places. In the case of a one-year-old stray puppy in Duplin County, North Carolina, that person happened to be a bright purple stuffed unicorn at a local Dollar General store. The good news is that this unusual love story has a happy ending!
It is unclear how the adorable Labrador mix, now called Sisu, first caught sight of the love of his life. However, once he did, there was no stopping the pooch from trying to snag it from the shelf in the store. On his first attempt, he burst through the doors and made a beeline for the toy aisle, only to be caught by the staff. Not deterred, Sisu made four more attempts, only to be gently shooed away by the vigilant employees each time.

The 1-year-old Lab mix, named Sisu, captured hearts around the world, and a photoshoot of the dog with his unicorn quickly went viral. Sisu and his beloved unicorn were adopted by someone from the North Carolina Lab Rescue, staff told NewsChannel 12 last month.

Sisu famously went viral a few weeks back when he was caught multiple times darting into a Dollar General store in North Carolina with just one mission. He was trying to take a pink and purple plush unicorn toy. Joe Newburn of
Duplin County Animal Services told People Magazine, He went straight for the unicorn, the same one every time.
Employees at the store ultimately called animal services to handle the situation. Officer Samantha Lane came to pick up Sisu and made sure to purchase the unicorn to keep Sisu company at the shelter. Sisu and the unicorn even got to have a fun photoshoot at the shelter.
