By Harold Mann Hardin County Judge Wayne McDaniel has issued a voluntary evacuation for residents in the low lying areas of the county. Judge McDaniel is encouraging residents in those areas to pack belongings and leave as a precaution. McDaniel has also issued a disaster declaration for Hardin County.

Walk-ins will be seen on Thursdays and Fridays from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. starting April 22. Vaccines in the county are available to anyone 18 and older and are not limited to county residents. Shot-seekers are asked to bring a completed vaccination form, a driver’s license and a health insurance card if you have one. cases in the county, Judge McDaniel is reporting six additional coronavirus deaths in the county since the last report on March 2nd. There have been 101 deaths in Hardin County. With rising numbers, Judge McDaniel recommends that citizens continue to wear masks. There have been nearly 2,500 positive COVID-19 cases in Hardin County. Just over 9,500 residents have received the first dose of the vaccine, nearly 5,000 have received both shots.
