The Lexus ES is the Japanese brand’s only answer to the Mercedes Benz E-Class and BMW 5-Series sedans, now that the sportier GS sedan has been killed off. For the 2022 model year, Lexus has refreshed the ES to compete better with its more technology-laden rivals. The visual updates on the 2022 Lexus ES are quite minimal. The changes are present on the grill, which now gets an updated pattern. The F Sport trim still gets its own special grill though. The headlamps sport a new bi-LED design. The lower trims will now come with 17-inch wheels and a couple of new body colour options are added in. The interior of the 2022 Lexus ES gets a proper touchscreen which can still be controlled via the remote touch feature as well.

A new ES 300h F Sport trim, focused on exterior and interior styling, will be available in select regions, Lexus says.

Enhancements to the safety features include a better camera lens and front radar. Overseas, Lexus offers the ES in three levels of trim. In India we only get the localised version of the 300 h hybrid. Lexus has unveiled the updated version of the ES. While there isn’t a sea change on the outside, there are some significant upgrades to the technology and software for improved safety, convenience, and driveability.  The facelifted ES gets Lexus Safety System+ 2.5 as standard. This includes a better camera lens and front radar (used for collision warning and autonomous emergency braking). The pre-collision system has been tweaked, which now gets emergency steering assist. The lane departure system and dynamic cruise control have been improved as well.
