Apr 6, 2021 HILLMAN — Brush Creek Mill recently received a $1,500 Community Impact Grant from the Community Foundation for Northeast Michigan. The money will be used to create a second-floor museum, according to the Mill’s Early Spring newsletter. “We will be filling it with the Mill collections and the collections from the Hillman Area Historical and Genealogical Society,” the newsletter states. The sudden switch from our recent winter blast to a pre-spring weather week might bring out a butterfly or two in the Bitterroot Valley. So says Bob Danley of the KLYQ Bitterroot Outdoor Journal this week. The Milberts Tortoiseshell butterfly (pictured above) has been seen as early as March 15th in some years.
