EACC Presents The Watercolors of Richard Stevens Exhibit by Artist Richard Stephens

The East Arkansas Community College Gallery in Forrest City presents The Watercolors of Richard Stephens, an exhibition by artist Richard Stephens of Hot Springs, Arkansas. The exhibit will run through Wednesday, March 31 st. A native of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Richard Stephens earned a Bachelor’s degree in Art from the University of Central Arkansas in 1969. After serving in the Army as an Illustrator, Stephens began his professional career in 1971 with a design firm in Little Rock. Three years later, he opened his own graphic design studio in his hometown and continued to provide design and production services for a wide range of commercial accounts.

Undulation, accepted into the Arkansas Arts Council’s Small Works on Paper touring exhibition 2021. There will be a virtual grand opening for the exhibit at 7 p.m., Friday, Jan. 15, on the Arkansas Arts Council Facebook page and Youtube channel. Undulation is intaglio print and paper cut that Harrington created in 2018. “I am honored to be accepted into this Arkansas art tradition,” Harrington said. “This show highlights the unique and diverse artworks on paper from Arkansas artists. This show is a fantastic opportunity to have my art viewed all over state since this is a touring exhibition. I have been in the Small Works on Paper exhibition times prior.

Johnny Moore Appointed Chancellor of Arkansas State University-Newport : The Journal of Blacks in Higher Education

Filed in Breaking News on December 28, 2020 Johnny M. Moore will be the next chancellor of Arkansas State University-Newport. He will begin his duties on February 8. The Newport campus of Arkansas State University enrolls nearly 2,300 students, all undergraduates. According to the latest data supplied to the U.S. Department of Education, African Americans make up 15 percent of the student body. Dr. Moore returns home to Arkansas after spending the last four years as president of Pierpont Community & Technical College in Fairmont, West Virginia. A native of Old Washington, Arkansas, he was president and CEO of Philander Smith College in Little Rock from 2012 to 2014.
