A 10-year-old Carrollton girl who had been missing after her mother was discovered slain overnight was found Wednesday afternoon, and the child’s father has been taken into custody in connection with the woman’s death.
Ronald Lee Singer, 35, is being charged with murder in the death of his ex-wife, 45-year-old Maria Romero Ramos, police said.
Authorities issued an Amber Alert for Singer and his daughter about 8:40 a.m. Wednesday.
The pair were found at a motel in Red Oak sometime before 11 a.m., Carrollton Police Chief Derick Miller said at a news conference.
Singer was taken into custody after he was found with Ramos’ car, Miller said. There was no indication that the girl had been physically hurt and she was placed in the custody of Child Protective Services.
