As a result of the drone sighting, several flights to and from Imphal were delayed. Additionally, incoming aircrafts that were due to enter Imphal airspace were redirected to alternative airports.

Imphal's airspace was temporarily closed for over three hours as an unidentified flying object (UFO) appeared over Bir Tikendrajit International Airport.

The Indian Air Force (IAF), soon after receiving information about the sighting of unidentified flying objects near the Imphal airport on Sunday, scrambled its Rafale fighter aircraft to search for them.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the Eastern Command stated, IAF activated its Air Defence response mechanism based on visual inputs from Imphal airport. The small object was not seen thereafter.

The Indian Air Force on Sunday deployed Rafale fighter jets to search for unidentified flying objects reportedly found near Imphal Airport in Manipur. According to reports, two Rafale aircraft were sent to search for the UFO, however, they did not spot any objects.

All civilian flight operations were brought to a halt for about three hours after a UFO was sighted over the Bir Tikendrajit International Airport in the northeastern state of Manipur.
