Each one has their role to play in welcoming Jesus to our world. For a moment, I would like to shed light on one who doesn t ever seek the limelight. He s one who is often in the background. Margaret Goodloe

On December 26, 2020 at 3:45 a.m., the good, God- fearing, generous heart of MARGARET MARIE COBB GOODLOE stopped beating. Its frail physical condition succumbed to a mightier, more powerful force that ushered Margaret’s spirit to a promised place called HEAVEN. Indeed, Margaret’s earthly existence ended but her precious soul began eternal life with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. In this joyous place, she can truly enjoy the wonderful presence of her Creator and join in fellowship with her parents, siblings and other relatives and friends who preceded her in death. MARGARET was born in Leighton, Alabama on January 31, 1937 to Connie D. and Annie Lee (Carter) Cobb. The second of eight children, she grew up as a young girl attending school, going to church and doing assigned chores at home. She loved her siblings anddid her best to assure their happiness.

In spite of COVID-19, Hugo’s Family Marketplace, Walmart Supercenter, Coborn’s Grocery, Cwikla Ace Hardware, Walgreens Pharmacy and L&M Supply graciously allowed us to ring at their stores for four weeks of Fridays and Saturdays following safety precautions. Also the red kettle was invited to ring at the Itasca Mantrap Co-op Christmas drive-through open house.

Pamplin Media Group - Resiliency has won in 2020

Resiliency has won in 2020 Crook County Foundation members found ways to adapt their events to pandemic restrictions We all know that 2020 has been a challenging and difficult year. To have ourselves and our loved ones impacted by the COVID-19 virus has been a story from our worst nightmare. But there has been an enormous amount of resiliency and ingenuity come out of this year. For example, the Paddy Pint Run that the Crook County Foundation coordinates is the largest walk/run in Crook County. In 2019, we had over 500 participants and an estimated 150 people cheering the racers on and enjoying our finish line celebration event. With only three days of warning, we had to quickly pivot the 2020 event into something that was not going to be able to be held in-person.
