CHICO, Calif. - City leaders in Chico are scrambling to find a place for the homeless after a federal judge gave them three weeks to find a solution.
Councilmember Scott Huber is asking the council to reconsider some locations for a sanctioned campground, including the BMX site on Silver Dollar Way in Chico.
Huber is asking the council to consider a number of proposed locations, such as city-owned property near Bruce and Humboldt Roads, former Butte County Supervisor Ed McLaughlin s property off of Cohasset Road, a property located off of Hegan Lane previously owned by FEMA and used to house Camp Fire survivors and a city-owned property on Hicks and Eaton Raad.
