After several weeks of absence, arguments and court orders on his health condition, the second suspect in the trial of the murder of former University of Ghana Law Lecturer, Professor Emmanuel Yaw Benneh, finally made his first appearance at the Kaneshie District Court after he was discharged from the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra.
Opambour Agya Badu Nkansah has been absent from court proceedings since October 14, 2020.
The prosecution had told the court that Nkansah was indisposed and was receiving treatment at the Police Hospital.
He was eventually sent to the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital where a surgery was performed on him.

Another suspect on trial for the murder of law lecturer at the University of Ghana, Prof Emmanuel Yaw Benneh has finally made an appearance in court after several weeks of absence due to ill health.
Graphic.com.gh reports that Opambour Agya Badu Nkansah made his first appearance at the Kaneshie District Court after he was discharged from the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.
Prior to his showing on Friday, January 15, Mr Badu Nkansah’s last court appearance was on October 14, 2020.
His counsel told the court that Badu Nkansah was indisposed and was receiving treatment at the Police Hospital.

This comes weeks after the prosecution failed to produce the suspect before the court with the recent one being the failure of the prosecution to meet a 48-hour deadline given by the court to furnish it with the medical report.
Nkansah, who is facing the court on charges of conspiracy and murder has been absent for eight consecutive times since October 14, 2020 after the prosecution had told the court that Nkansah was indisposed and was receiving treatment at the Police Hospital.

The prosecution in the trial of the murder of former University of Ghana law lecturer, Professor Emmanuel Yaw Benneh, has finally submitted a comprehensive medical report on the second suspect, Opambour Agya Badu Nkansah.
This comes weeks after the prosecution failed to produce the suspect before the court with the recent one being the failure of the prosecution to meet a 48-hour deadline given by the court to furnish it with the medical report.
Nkansah, who is facing the court on charges of conspiracy and murder has been absent for eight consecutive times since October 14, 2020 after the prosecution had told the court that Nkansah was indisposed and was receiving treatment at the Police Hospital.
The Kaneshie District Court on Monday directed that the Director-General of the Criminal Investigation Department to appear before it on December 29, if the second suspect in the murder of Professor Emmanuel Yaw Benneh, was not brought to court.
According to the court if the medical report of Opambour Agya Badu Nkansah, the second suspect was not made available to it by the next adjourned date then the CID Boss must appear before it to answer.
The court, presided over by Ms Ama Adomako Kwakye subjected the case investigator to series of questioning after the suspect was not brought to the court on Monday.
