Jess Perkins will replace Bryce Mills on triple j’s Weekend Afternoons.
Triple j told
Radio Today Perkins already had a huge history with the network, having filled in on just about every program. Her segments have included ‘Dog Acts‘ and ‘Simply The Jess’t‘.
Plus, triple j said, she’s a successful stand-up comedian and has her own podcast,
Do Go On.
Perkins said she was super excited to take on the role.
“It’s a dream gig for me and one I never really expected to get the opportunity to do, so I’m over the moon,” she said. “I’ve had such a great time over the past few years at triple j, doing Mid-Dawns and mucking around with Hobba and Hing on Drive. I feel so lucky to have the chance to be keeping the audience company all weekend.”

Sampa The great has been forced to postpone her huge An Afro Future shows this February and March, due to border restrictions. I ve been waiting to hear better new around the changing border rules and lockdown for our Afrofuture shows in Australia, Sampa said in a statement today. Unfortunately, these shows can not go ahead until the climate gets better and I can bring my actual home crew with me.

ABC Radio has announced the 2021 presenter line up.

ABC Radio has announced its 2021 presenter line ups, which remain relatively stable for all networks, with no changes for ABC Radio Sydney and ABC Radio Melbourne.
Several ABC radio networks recorded their highest audience reach and share in a decade due largely to the bushfire coverage followed by coverage of the COVID-19 pandemic and the US election.
Triple j introduces a new breakfast duo with Bryce Mills and Ebony Boadu starting on 18 January – just before the Hottest 100 of 2020 countdown on Saturday 23 January and the Hottest 200 on 24 January.
