CFAO, HEDA support fish farmers in Lagos community

Punch Newspapers Sections Published 27 February 2021 The CFAO Group, through CFAO Yamaha Motor Nigeria Limited, has partnered with a non-governmental organisation, HEDA Resource Centre, to train and equip fish farmers under the aegis of Ire-Akari Fish Farmers Association in Ebute Afuye, Epe, Lagos. According to a statement, the programme, which is part of CFAO and HEDA’s corporate social responsibility, was officially launched on February 18 in Epe, and will provide aquaculture training, extension service support and highly nutritious floating fish feed for 20 beneficiaries. The statement said the initiative was a revolving loan format that would see other members of the Ire-Akari Fish Farmers Association get support for their businesses.

Lagos state govt pledges prompt payment of counterpart funds to APPEALS project, others

By Olayinka Olawale Lagos, Jan. 25, 2021 The Lagos State Government says it will continue to make regular payments of its counterpart funds and provision of capable human resources to all donor and World Bank Assisted Projects. The State Commissioner for Agriculture, Ms. Abisola Olusanya made the pledge at the opening ceremony of a pre-6th Implementation Support Mission of the World Bank Assisted Agro-Processing, Productivity Enhancement and Livelihood Empowerment Support (APPEALS) Project, on Saturday, in Lagos. Olusanya, who was represented by Dr Olayiwole Onasanya, Permanent Secretary in the ministry, noted that the regular and prompt payment of counterpart funds would facilitate successful project implementation in the state’s chosen Poultry, Rice and Aquaculture value chains.
