As of 6:45 p.m. Thursday, traffic is behind held between Pointview in Placerville to Meyers due to multiple spinouts. There is also avalanche control at Echo Summit and drivers can expect more of the same through the night.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Caltrans has closed the westbound lanes of I-80 from the Nevada state line to Truckee. Vehicles are being turned around at the state line. There is no estimated time for reopening.

A blizzard warning has been issued from Monday to Wednesday for the greater Tahoe area and Donner Pass. Travel is not advised.
