Jackie's Warrior, the 2021 Eclipse Award-winning male sprinter, easily won Friday's True North Stakes at Belmont Park in New York.

The 52nd annual Eclipse Awards, honoring Thoroughbred racing’s human and equine champions of 2022, will be held on Thursday, Jan. 26, 2023, at The Breakers Palm Beach.

Kirk Robison and Judy Robison’s reigning champion sprinter Jackie’s Warrior appears to be the one to beat as he makes the third start of his 4-year-old season in Friday’s $300,000 True North (G2) at Belmont Park.

Sarah Ramsey, who along with her husband Ken bred and raced multiple Breeders' Cup champions and won a leading 510 races at Churchill Downs, has died. She was 83.

She and her husband Ken had 2,241 winners and career purse earnings of over $98 million, according to Equibase. They won four Eclipse Awards as for outstanding owners and two for outstanding breeders, and led North America owners by purse earnings in 2013 and 2014.

Sarah Kathern “Kitten” Ramsey, who along with her husband Ken is the all-time leading owner at Churchill Downs, passed away Sunday at age 83. 

According to Churchill Downs spokesman Darren Rogers, Ramsey died at her home in Nicholasville on Sunday.
