Close relations with the United States is the cornerstone of Korea's security and prosperity. Our two countries are committed to the fundamental values of peace, freedom, and democracy. Together,we fought--and died--for these values. I am here today to reconfirmour friendship and stress the need for strengthened trust andcooperation for the next 50 years.

U.S. and Malaysian forces have cooperated on a wide range ofmissions with virtually no fanfare or public acknowledgement. Andin spite of its success, our bilateral defense relationship seemsto be an all too well-kept secret.
