The Illinois Department of Public Health is reporting a total of 1,508,005 cases of the coronavirus statewide as of this morning and 23,889 total deaths. Friday's numbers amounted to 4942 cases and 14 deaths. The Wayne County Health Department is reporting a total of 2269 cases with 191 residents isolating earlier this week. Reports from around the area indicated the Hamilton County School District #10 had eight students and two staff memebers with COVID as of Friday, 84 students quarantined and three staff members. The Marion County Health Department reported 22 new cases of the virus Thursday and Friday, with totals of 5517 positive cases and 131 deaths. Officials at Hamilton Memorial Hospital said Friday there were at a "medical surge capacity with overflow into waiting rooms."
