A privately owned estate near Keswick has gone on the market for the first time in 100 years. The Higham Estate on the edge of Bassenthwaite Lake, went on the market with Edwin Thompson last week. The estate is home to popular local business, The Lakes Distillery and has been owned by the Fisher family since it s purchase in 1904. The estate s price has not been revealed. It is on sale via private treaty with the six restore properties being on offer as a bulk lot or for 12 individual buyers. There is also 979 acres of farmland and 178 acres of commercial woodland included within the site.
