The Vaturisu Council of Chiefs of Efate island which hosts Vanuatus capital city of Port Vila has recently approved kastom (custom) penalties for killings on Efate. Chairman of the council, Chief Simeon Poilapa said they have deposited the new kastom law to the Malvatumauri Council of Chiefs. Photo: AFP PNG scales down Covid-19 testing Papua New Guineas National Control Centre has decided to "scale down" testing for Covid-19 and focus on rolling out the vaccination programme. NSW Health has launched an investigation after the crew of a ship that docked in Sydney later tested positive for COVID-19. Health officials were left in the dark over the fact at least 15 Port Botany wharfies who boarded the ship could have been infected for three weeks.
