Police have said a case remains open into the death of a mother-of-five, who drowned in a woodland pond, after a coroner recorded an ‘open verdict’.
Suffolk Corner's Court heard how Andrius Vengalis, 46, had not seen any of his children since the death of his wife Egle Vengaliene, 35, on April 9, 2021.
Factory worker Andrius Vengalis, 46, denied trying to 'throttle' mother-of-five Egle Vengaliene, 35, or pushing her under the water at the lake in Brandon Country Park, Suffolk on April 9, 2021.
Robert McDonald said that mother-of-five Egle Vengaliene had the top half of her body on a bank and her legs dangling in the water as her husband Andrius Vengalis, 46, tried to revive her.
Andrius Vengalis was in custody for nine months before a not guilty charge was recorded by a judge at Ipswich Crown Court in January last year after prosecutors offered no evidence against him.
