The West Bonner school district officially has a $4.68 million levy on the May 21 ballot. Language on the levy was adopted at a special March 18 board meeting following a March 12 meeting that approved moving forward with the levy.

A long-awaited forensic audit has found no financial misconduct, West Bonner trustees were told by auditing firm Eide Bailey last week. The board approved a motion to review the draft audit, sending any questions to West Bonner board clerk Julie Hinshaw by April 8. Approval of the draft audit report could take place at the board's April 17 meeting after Eide Bailey has a chance to address any board questions.

West Bonner district leader Branden Durst had some potentially uplifting news for the embattled school community during a Wednesday evening school board meeting. Durst announced that Bonner County is going to make two more payments to the district based on the payout from a 2021 supplemental levy. This includes an immediate payout of $896,859 and a second payment of about $150,000 still to be collected from property taxes in the next 12 months.

West Fargo city leaders approved a contract extension with AE2S Nexus, which will continue to provide staffing support to West Fargo through November.
