The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has said a “stop-and-search’’ operation carried out by its personnel on the Lokoja-Abuja highway led to the discovery of the sum of four million, eight hundred and eighty thousand US dollars ($4,880,000) and fifty-seven million CFA (CFA57,000,000) suspected to be counterfeit notes.

Justice P. I. Ajoku of the Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, has remanded a fake oil magnate, Wilfred Chinonso Oti in the Port Harcourt Correctional Centre for impersonation, money laundering and obtaining by false pretence. This followed his arraignment on Friday, July 21, 2023, by the Port Harcourt Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on eight counts.
