For the Flautas Fest, Reyes says he knew the Mexican staple was something he wanted to feature because it reminds him of his childhood. I know it s easy to go to H-E-B and buy the box, but I love the process of making it, he says. My mom used to always make it in front of us and show us how to prep it. It just brings up so many good memories.
