0 wow, that s what it looked like as these tornadoes rushed through as many as five twisters hit oklahoma. you see cars speeding down the road, the debris flying everywhere out of a total of 17 that were reported, that number from the national weather service. watch that bale of hay slam into the car. 17 is the number from the national weather service across the midwest. two of the towns in the path of the storm el reno and union city, five deaths blamed on the storm including a mother and small child. at least 70 others were injured but that may not be all. a number of casualties will probably go up, we expect that to go up in the next 24 hours, hopefully not very much, hopefully not at all but it certainly appears that it may. and right now, flooding is a major concern. the storms brought more than ten inches of rain in some areas. we have team coverage across the damage zone. george howell is in union city, oklahoma, ed valencia is in el reno. george let s begin with you. it s
0 meteorologist janice huff live with us now for today s forecast. that line of storms that caused the damage last night, where is that line now? well, craig, it is moving east, finally moving out of places like oklahoma and kansas and missouri. they still have issues with flooding in those areas though, residual flooding from the runoff, but now, the unfortunate thing is the line is moving into other areas causing possibly significant flooding later on today that risk right now stretches from dallas through southern arkansas, parts of mississippi, western tennessee and up through the ohio valley. many of these areas just today have seen anywhere from one to three inches of rain. they may see an additional two to four inches of rain, which will make things worse because these storms are moving so slowly, been the big problem the last week or so. this storm system has been set up in the same area for almost two weeks now. that s why we ve seen the same type of weather over and over an

0 trial for multiple murders. we ll talk to the boston globe reporter who knows his story better than anybody. good morning from washington. it is friday, may 31st, 2013. this is the daily rundown. luke russert in for the great chuck todd. the fbi is questioning an army veteran in texas about whether he has any knowledge of a threatening letter sent to the white house and addressed to president obama. it s the third letter that the bureau has found containing a form of the deadly poison ricin. two previous letters were addressed to new york city mayor michael bloomberg and his gun control group. the fbi says the letter to the president is similar to this one sent to bloomberg. it s type written, a note that makes threats against gun control advocates and says, quote, you will have to kill me and my family before you get my guns. the letter in essence complains about gun control and says that anyone who comes for my guns will be shot in the face. that letter was intercepted a week
