Jan Carter
Jan Browning Carter passed away on Jan. 17 in the loving arms of his wife and daughters.
Born in New York, N.Y., on Oct. 12, 1941, “J.B.” grew up in Long Beach, attending Long Beach City and State colleges. He played alto sax and was a lifelong fan of all kinds of music. He served in the Coast Guard Reserve for seven years. He met his girlfriend for life, Barbara, on the road to Big Bear in 1963. They married in 1964 and enjoyed 56 years together.
Jan and Barbara moved to Lodi in 1966 where Jan found work at Super Mold Corp. After 10 years in the industry, Jan founded his own business, Lodi Equipment, where he served as owner/CEO for the next 30 years. He served as president and director of the California Tire Dealers & Retreaders Association and was a 25-year member of NFIB, a member of the Sacramento Valley Family Business Roundtable, and a Trustee of Valley Vision.
