Good evening from new york. Im chris hayes. The General Motors plant in warren, michigan, just ten miles from this weeks democratic debates in detroit, is shutting down on thursday. Its the story of the trump economy that donald trump desperately does not want told. Because it is not the first story like it. It is one of five gm plants being closed in north america by the end of the year. In fact, the Company Plans to lay off as many as 14,000 workers. Theres also, of course, the lordstown plant...

One 2020 candidate who now supports starting an impeachment inquiry. Welcome to the lead. Im jake tapper. We begin with our politics lead and a shocking admission by President Trump that he and some of his allies are now working hard to pretend he did not say or mean. After years of insisting there was no collusion, that he and his campaign did not receive any damaging information about Hillary Clinton from an american adversary, the russian government, the president stunned the political world ...

Sense. Cascaded into shape. Val will join us and be our guest tonight. I didnt know you had her. I would have tried to steal her. Sorry, i would have stolen michael. Here is what i love about what we saw in yesterdays hearings, and you see this frequently in hearings with katy porter for example. You see the background of that congressperson coming out in the hearings in katy porters case, a law professor and val demings case, former police chief in orlando, florida with all of that Law Enforcem...

What todays hearings represent and what future hearings could be. Hearing from the mueller team as many members of the mueller team as possible is important. There was a team, as you know, working exclusively on volume one and another team working exclusively on volume two. They have such a command of the detail of everything in that investigation and their own reactions to it that would be so invaluable to be hearing. Essentially today now that we have heard from Robert Mueller. This special co...

I am bret baier. The attorney general throws a job the special counsels way of suggesting Robert Mueller could have and should have reached a decision on obstruction in russia investigation. From william barr comes one day after mueller declared that the special counsel team would have declared that the president did not commit a crime if they had had that confidence. The exchanges 24 hours apart coming as President Trump walked back a tweet about russia and the now former special counsel before...

Vice President Joe Biden and senator Kamala Harris were teed up to battle right from cue 1 over their health care proposals. Julian castro took aim at the obama biden administrations record on deportation....

President trump is a bit on the defensive after he said hed take dirt from a foreign power if he was offered it again. Its what he said but today on fox news, he said thats not what he meant. They know how much i love this country. Nobodys going to present me with anything. Number two, if i was, of course i have to look at it, i...

Opponent. Do you call the fbi. For its coming from russia, you do. I dont think in my life i called the fbi. In my whole life. You dont call the fbi. You throw somebody out of your office. Al gore got a stolen briefing book and he called the fbi. This was different. Someone said we have information on your opponent. Let me call the fbi. Give me a break. The fbi director said thats what should happen. The fbi director is wrong. If russia or china or someone else offers information, should they ac...
