Over the past decade, mobile phone manufacturing in India has seen a remarkable 21-fold increase to reach Rs 4.1 lakh crore, driven by government policies like the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme. This surge has enabled India to fulfill 97% of its mobile phone demand domestically, with 30% of production targeted for export in FY24, amounting to an estimated Rs 1.2 lakh crore.
