The Kane County Health Department is now administering COVID-19 vaccinations to an additional group of more than 1,600 Group 1A health care workers and Group 1B essential workers.
Healthcare workers who have not been contacted and are seeking more information about Phase 1A should contact COVIDvaccine@co.kane.il.us.
Vaccine appointments for Kane County residents in priority group 1B essential workers and seniors 65 and older are expected to begin within the next two weeks. Kane County will have more than 40 COVID-19 vaccine providers such as clinics, pharmacies, hospitals and medical practices in preparation for vaccinating group 1B.

The COVID-19 vaccine arrived in the suburbs, people continued to give their time to those in need, and the Daily Herald named it s annual holiday lights contest winners in The Week in Pictures for December 12-18, 2020.

A mobile testing unit managed by the Illinois Department of Public Health will be in Kane County next week to provide free COVID-19 tests to the community.
The unit will be available 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. while supplies last on Tuesday, Dec. 22, at Elgin Sports Complex, 709 Sports Way, Elgin, and Sunday, Dec. 27, Dundee Crown High School, 1500 Kings Road, Carpentersville.
Testing is open to all regardless of symptoms. Anyone who has recently been exposed to a potential or confirmed COVID-19 case, is encouraged to get tested, even if they are not experiencing symptoms. A phone number and name are required in order to receive testing results. Photo ID is not required.
