Demary gets steal, layup in OT to lift Millbrook to 4A state championship

Trinity, N.C. It s finally Millbrook s year.
The Wildcats, after heartbreaking losses in postseason runs scattered throughout the last decade, are boys basketball champions at long last.
Millbrook claimed the NCHSAA 4A boys basketball state championship with a 67-65 win over Ardrey Kell in overtime on a game-winning strip and layup by Silas Demary Jr. with four seconds remaining
This year s Wildcats (19-0), the first 4A state champions to go undefeated since Olympic in 2013, survived back-to-back overtime games to make it to this year s final, so it was only fitting they played a third for the title.

coach, tell us what it was like going to R hosting North Neck and coming away with the win over the team that a lot of people in North Carolina thought was the favorite to win the state championship this year. It was very exciting. I told them Monday afternoon at practice that this would probably never happen again, getting a regional final at home and unprecedented times, and so we just had to take advantage of it.
