Medina’s McDowell-Phillips house prepares for Armstrong Cable Christmas special

MEDINA, Ohio The Medina County Historical Society has decorated the McDowell-Phillips house for Christmas to celebrate the upcoming first anniversary of the society’s ownership and to prepare for Episode 8 of Armstrong Cable Television’s documentary series about the home’s restoration.

Agents National Title Insurance Company (ANTIC), Columbia, Mo., part of the Incenter family of companies optimizing lending processes, has promoted Elizabeth Blake, CPA, from Controller to Chief Financial Officer.
Ms. Blake, who joined ANTIC in 2015, brings a strong background in accounting and taxation to ANTIC at a time of rapid national expansion. Over the past two years, the company’s headcount has grown by more than 40%, and premium sales have more than tripled. ANTIC has also added 25 state licenses since 2019 for a current total of 44.

financial reform. we spend so much time talking about what is in that financial reform bill, but let s talk about some things that are actually missing. jack otter is the executive editor of moneywatch.com and joins us with a lot of insight to this. start with consumer protection. the consumer financial protection agency. it is something that the president has pushed for. we ll see it in one form or another. but you say there are two big things you would actually change? sure. for starters, it s going to be housed in the federal reserve. i don t think that s a great idea. a stronger agency if independent. the federal reserve is charged with big systemic risk. the cfpa has to make sure the insurance salesman doesn t rip off grandma. a different job. keep them separate. the more important one, really, is that financial advisers ought to be held to a higher stand than they are now. i m not confident that s in there. 85% of people giving financial advice in this country are not
