By Greg Hoersten - For The Lima News
A large bicycle race can be seen in this 1896 photograph, with its starting line in front of the Harman store along North Main Street.
Frank Harman’s father, William Harman, remarried and moved his family to Lima about 1869, operating a store here until around 1876.
An advertisement from F.E. Harman’s store from 1895 promises a Columbia bicycle for $100.
The Harman store featured a display of bicycles in 1896.
Frank Harman and the former Clara Mary Bell married Sept. 4, 1883.
