An 83-year-old man was sentenced to life without the possibility of parole for the murder of beloved Lodi podiatrist Dr. Thomas Shock.

Robert Elmo Lee, 83, was found guilty on Thursday by a court in California of arranging the murder of Dr Thomas Shock, 67, in August 2018. Shock had treated Lees wife and Lee blamed him for her death.

Robert Elmo Lee was found guilty of first-degree murder “with a special circumstance of murder for financial gain” in the 2018 slaying of Dr. Thomas Shock in Lodi, the San Joaquin County District Attorney’s Office said.

In 2018, Shock was fatally shot in his home in Lodi. Police responding to reports of shots fired found Shock with gunshot wounds just inside his door.
