The Burlington Memorial Auditorium transformed Wednesday from an entertainment venue to a vaccination clinic as Des Moines County seniors turned up at their scheduled times to get their initial dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
The clinic through which Des Moines County Public Health was able to administer 600 doses of the vaccine with help from Great River Medical Center, Des Moines County Emergency Management, Southeast Iowa Bus, the Community Emergency Response Team and numerous other volunteers was organized in just 24 hours. We set up the clinic (Tuesday) morning, Des Moines County Public Health Administrator Christa Poggemiller said.
