Scotland's Neil Fachie was defeated for the first time today at the Commonwealth Games, as Welsh rider James Ball ended his hopes of a record sixth gold medal, an achievement overshadowed by a horrific crash in the men's scratch qualifying.

AberCycleFest returned to the promenade after a three-year hiatus due to the Covid pandemic, and welcomed hundreds of cyclists from all over the country to participate in the promenade criterium races.
