A Fayetteville man serving a federal prison sentence for being a felon in possession of a firearm was transferred to Cumberland County on Tuesday evening in an unrelated 2017 killing.
Adam Golden, 24, was among four people charged in the Jan. 19, 2017, shooting death of Calvin Louis Blackshire Jr., 27.
Blackshire was gunned down and robbed of his Air Jordan sneakers and iPhone just before midnight behind the Motel 6 on Cedar Creek Road. For 10 minutes, a bystander livestreamed to Facebook the mortally wounded Blackshire lying on the ground. The young father died the following day at the hospital.
Golden’s co-defendants, Elvin Freeman Morrison, 24; Yasheika Zikyra West, 21; and Iona Deja Shameka Thomas, 21, have been held in the Cumberland County jail since their arrests in 2018.
