As per a BBC report, a political activist from Laos who has survived an attempt on his life has now left the country to seek urgent medical care. According to videos circulating online, on 30th April, 25-year-old "Jack" Anousa Luangsuphom was shot point blank in the face and chest in the nation's capital, Vientiane.
Following the shooting, Luangsuphom's relatives reportedly claimed that the blogger had been killed. However, later activists said that he was alive and recovering in the hospital.
A young Lao political activist who was shot in Vientiane is still alive, it has been revealed, after his family apparently falsely reported him dead out of fear of further reprisals.
