Fenwick girls swimming solid in MCAC meet

The Fenwick High School varsity girls swimming team finished in fourth place with 271 points at the Metro Catholic Aquatic Conference meet held at Fenwick on Oct. 21.Although they didn’t win any events, several solid individual performances were turned in by the Friars. Sophomore Claire Wood took third in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:56.43 and sixth in the 100 freestyle in 54.90 seconds.

Winners Announcement: 2021 "Fashion For All" Student Design Competition

June 9, 2021 RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC / LIVINGSTON, NJ — June 9, 2021— AATCC and the Runway of Dreams Foundation are delighted to announce the winners of the 2021 AATCC and Runway of Dreams Foundation Fashion for All Student Design Competition! The 2021 theme challenged students to create or transform an accessory (bags, belts, jewelry, shoes, etc.) that reimagines fashion and function for people with disabilities. All accessories MUST be textile based! 1st Place Starry Night Super Socks by Emma Steadman from Duke University. She will be awarded a US$5,000 scholarship. The prize will be presented at the Runway of Dreams Fashion Revolution Runway Show and Gala during NYFW 2021 (with up to US$1,000 travel and lodging stipend). Steadman is a mechanical engineering student.

Memory tree planted Harrow Lodge Park Secret Blind Garden

Havering Mayor John Mylod did the honours on Friday (April 23), watched by a number of volunteers who had been working on green space throughout the morning. On the garden - which turns 60 in July and is also called the Secret Blind Garden - Cllr Mylod said: "I can't believe that after all these years, it's still here. I'm really pleased to be planting this tree, which is intended to remember those we've lost, but also to think about happy times."
