Members of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) on Parliament 39;s Appointments Committee rejected the approval of three ministers-designate and have further held the nomination of five other nominees.

Five ministerial nominees out of the 30 so far vetted have reportedly received red flags from the Minority MPs on Parliament’s Appointments Committee to reappear for further questioning.
They are Communication and Digitalization Minister-nominee Ursula Owusu-Ekuful; Railway Minister-nominee John Peter Amewu; Roads Minister-nominee, Kwasi Amoako-Attah; Attorney General and Minister of Justice-nominee Godfred Dame; and Health Minister-nominee Kwaku Agyeman-Manu.
Made up of a total of 26 members – 13 each from the NDC and the NPP Caucuses – the Committee began the constitutionally mandated vetting process on February 10 and are expected to finish on March 9.
In a report sighted by GhanaWeb, the NDC MPs led by Minority Leader Haruna Iddrisu have outlined reasons for their decision.
The minority members on the Appointments Committee of Parliament have rejected three ministers-designate after the vetting of the nominees.
However, the Committee has put on hold the approval of five others seeking further clarification. They are: Roads and Highways portfolio Kwesi Amoako-Atta, Minister-designate for Communications and Digitization, Ursula Owusu Ekuful, Health Minister-designate, Kwaku Agyeman-Manu, Attorney General-designate, Godfred Yeboah Dame and John Peter Amewu, Minister-designate for Railways Development.
Meanwhile, 22 other ministerial nominees of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo have been unanimously approved by the Appointments Committee of Parliament.

Police open investigations into attack on bailiff by ‘Peter Amewu boys’
The Ghana Police Service says it is investigating a case of assault on a court bailiff after he was attacked by alleged supporters of NPP MP-elect for Hohoe and Energy Minister John Peter Amewu.
The victim, Emmanuel Aziaka, had gone to Wli Todzi in the Hohoe Municipality to serve a court document on the Minister who had attended a victory party there.
Attack
Emmanuel in an interview with Joy FM said he was accosted and bundled into a black V8 vehicle and whisked away by some heavily-built men.
The officer of the court said he was taken to an area between Fodome Agbesia and Torganu where he was beaten to pulp.
