Boris Johnson’s lockdown roadmap, outdoor pubs, restaurants and many other hospitality venues will be allowed to reopen from April 12. While many of these venues have been offering takeaway and delivery service, there is nothing like enjoying a hot meal or drink at the venue itself. Customers will be served outside and they can meet in a group of up to six people from different households. We have already taken a look at the
pubs and bars reopening this month and now it’s time to take a look at the local restaurants and cafes also getting ready to reopen their outdoor area.
TWO stores known for their value for money will be opening on Manchester Road this Thursday. Supermarket chain Lidl is opening the doors to their fifth Bolton branch on February 25, while discount retailer Poundstretcher will be joining them. Lidl has launched two other supermarkets in Greater Manchester as part of the company’s £1.3bn investment plans across the country, a second store is opening in Manchester while a third will be launched in Glossop. These stores will create around 120 new jobs. Lidl provided an additional retail unit to Poundstretcher at the site on Manchester Road. The supermarket will feature an in-store bakery, parking for both cars and bicycles and electric vehicle charging spaces.
Poundstretcher s grand opening on its Manchester Road store will take place at 10am on February 25. As part of the celebrations, the chain have donated £250 worth of vouchers to Emmaus Bolton to thank them for their hard work in the community. The store is providing employment for people in the nearby area, having hired both full and part-time staff. The discount retailer offers homeware products, toiletries and branded confectionary and drinks. Staff will be working hard to ensure Covid-19 guidelines are followed in store, and the business is classified as an essential shop which can remain open during the national lockdown.
