Schueller Wins Close Race for Mayor of Armstrong

Armstrong, IA (KICD)– The City of Armstrong has a new mayor after residents went to the polls for a special election on Tuesday.
The unofficial results from the Emmet County Auditor’s Office show Travis Schueller, who currently serves as the shared Superintendent for North Union and North Kossuth Schools, defeated David Grussing who was appointed by the City Council to fill the position by 31votes.
The special election came to be after now former mayor Greg Buum was arrested along with three past city clerks and the police chief in a long term investigation into alleged misconduct and embezzlement.
