IISc develops technique to encapsulate tiny droplets used for cell culture
At the Indian Institute of Science, researchers devised a pioneering method using capillary forces to encapsulate liquid droplets for various applications. This technique involves coating droplets with a composite shell, allowing precise control over shell thickness and accommodating droplets of different sizes. Lead by Prosenjit Sen, the team achieved reduced evaporation rates by up to 200 times, extending droplets lifespans significantly.
