Some of them were murdered a decade ago, some in the early 2000s or even earlier. There is, however, a striking similarity: justice has not been done to them as impunity prevails. 

Pakistan Press Foundation released two reports that underscored the continuing attacks facing journalists in Pakistan. One of the reports also documented increasing online attacks targeting women journalists.

"Criminals and authoritarian forces are silencing independent journalism with violence, and face very little consequences for doing so. Impunity encourages and accelerates further attacks, undermining the future of critical reporting and ultimately democracy."
