Micron’s Sanand plant is India’s first big-ticket semiconductor project with an estimated investment of Rs 22,500 crore. At Sanand GIDC, the company is set to establish one of the country’s biggest Assembly, Testing, Marking and Packaging (ATMP) plant, which is expected to provide direct employment to 5,000 and indirect employment to 15,000-odd professionals.

Micron Semiconductor Hiring: At Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of Information and Communication Technology (DAIICT), Gandhinagar, the semiconductor manufacturer has so far recruited four students. Plans to extend a city college in order to create a workshop for engineering students have been approved. Derby College submitted £3.5m proposals to expand the rear of its Stephenson building at the Roundhouse campus at Pride Park earlier this year.
