U.S. authorities on April 19 imposed a $300 million penalty on Seagate Technology, to resolve alleged violations of export controls related to selling hard disk drives to Huawei Technologies, the Commerce Department said.

Seagate fined $300 million after the Department of Commerce claimed it violated US export laws by selling hard drives to HUAWEI.

Its the largest standalone penalty in Department of Commerce Bureau of Industry and Security history.
