Neighbourhood can figure in tonight’s Group 2
Australia Stakes at
Moonee Valley, despite the market suggesting otherwise.
Jusufovic described the race as a great chance to secure further black-type and believes that his galloper is over the odds at her current price.
He said that he has no concerns about drawing barrier 1 in a small field and is confident that the daughter of Street Boss will thrive in her first attempt at
The Valley.
“I’m hoping that she doesn’t get too far back and that we can get a run up on the fence,” Jusufovic told

A six horse field for a Group 2 feature isn’t ideal for many but, when you’re chasing black type success for a future broodmare, it’s a great scenario.
Trainer Enver Jusufovic intended to aim Neighbourhood at the autumn but, when the nominations came up thin, he jumped at the chance to potentially pinch a placing in what is, in class, the strongest race of her career.
“I honestly thought the nominations would have been a lot stronger … There’s no Black Caviar or Scales of Justice in it so, I think she’ll be competitive,” Jusufovic said.

Enver Jusufovic is happy to watch races from a perspective he s not used to with his flying machine Miss Albania being in front in her races from the start to the finish.
As she has done in her previous three wins Miss Albania led throughout and sizzled over the Caulfield 1100 metres to win the Iris O Farrell Handicap.
Miss Albania recorded a time of 1.02.47 min which was 0.74 seconds outside Here De Angel s course record set in 2010 of 1.01.73 seconds. Everyone would be aware that my horses generally are backmarkers so she s a little bit different, Jusufovic said.

Craig Newitt took the Enver Jusufovic-trained Miss Albania ($4.80 favourite) to the lead from the outside barrier in the Iris O Farrell Handicap (1100m), for fillies and mares at benchmark 70 level, and was never headed, winning by three-quarters of a length. She crossed (to the lead) hard on the bridle, straightened up and I still had a lapful (to spare), Newitt said.
“When I went through her gears she still had her ears pricked and I was holding onto her a little bit longer - she’s pretty exciting.
