The city of Bristol has announced it has purchased 63.9 acres known as the Pigeon Hill property in an effort to preserve open space.
The city completed the land purchase with the town of Burlington and Environmental Learning Centers of Connecticut (ELCCT) for $2.1 million. The purchase was made possible via an $850,800 state open space grant from the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection. The remaining purchase price was covered by ELCCT and various fundraisers.
