Metallica has acquired the majority interest in Furnace, an Alexandria-based record pressing company and provider of high-quality vinyl records.

Hall-of-Fame rock band Metallica has acquired the majority interest in a Northern Virginia company that presses vinyl records, the manufacturer and the band announced this week.

Metallica have bought a vinyl pressing plant to help ensure demand for their records can be met, as sales of the format rise for a 16th year.

What a flex. To keep up with the demand, Metallica decided to just open up their own vinyl pressing plant in Virginia

The band now owns Furnace Record Pressing in Alexandria, Virginia, to keep up with demand for reissued LPs
