Penn State plans to begin the semester in person as planned, however with local COVID-19 hospitalizations at an all-time high, and the uneven spread of the omicron variant creating uncertainty, Penn State officials are reminding the University Park campus community, out of an abundance of caution, to be prepared to alter plans, should the University need to start the spring semester remotely. Penn State will update the community on Dec. 30.

Penn State is expected to provide an update on its spring semester plans by Thursday, December 30.

Lorraine Goffe, vice president for human resources and chief human resources officer, has announced her departure from the University, effective Jan. 31, 2022. She will assume a new role as vice president for human resources and chief human resource officer at Northwestern University in February. Jennifer Wilkes, current assistant vice president for administration in the Office of the Senior Vice President for Commonwealth Campuses, has been named interim vice president for human resources.
