EASTPOINTE — A local man has been convicted in a 2021 drunken driving incident in which he struck a couple who were riding a motorcycle, killing one and critically injuring another.

Eric Compton drove through a stop sign at the intersection at Rosetta and Holland streets near Nine Mile and Kelly roads and crashed into the left side of the Harley Davidson driven by Bradley Ruff and occupied by Patricia Ruff.

Patricia Ruff took the stand Wednesday in the Macomb County Circuit Court trial of Eric Compton, 42, who is charged with four felonies for the August 2021 crash in Eastpointe that killed Bradley Ruff, 64.
